Understanding Mosquito Reduction
Because mosquitoes can lay up to 300 eggs a month, reducing populations is realistic, and eliminating them entirely isn’t. We approach every property from a reduction standpoint, and we’re straightforward about that from the start. Many mosquito reduction methods were designed with larger properties in mind, so for smaller residential lots we typically recommend layering solutions to bring populations down more effectively.
We use two main methods: In2Care Mosquito Stations and barrier sprays. In2Care Stations contain a fungus that kills adult mosquitoes and a larvicide that spreads to nearby breeding sites, including in neighboring yards. Stations are serviced every four to six weeks. This method is most effective when started in late winter or early spring, ahead of peak mosquito activity. For more immediate reduction, we offer barrier sprays applied to leaves, branches, and first-story structures where mosquitoes rest. Sprays are applied for 25 to 30 days of coverage and can be scheduled as a one-time service or repeated through the season.
Two barrier spray options are available:
- Traditional Spray: A four-part chemical blend delivering quick knockdown, long-lasting residual protection, and larvicide coverage. It can’t be applied to edible plants or fruit while on the plant.
- Essential-Oil-Based Spray: Tank-mixed with larvicide for combined adult and larval coverage. Some sensitive plants may react in direct sunlight.
We also offer larvicide treatments for drains, ponds, and fountains, which last up to two months. Because mosquitoes breed in standing water and rest in shaded vegetation, our treatments target both, addressing the life cycle rather than just the adult population you can see.

Combating Mosquitoes Together
While we can provide chemical treatments to help reduce mosquito populations on and around your property, you can also take steps to help fight these pesky creatures.
We recommend that you take the following steps:
- Plant vegetation in your yard that mosquitoes are not attracted to
- Fix places in and around your home where water puddles tend to linger
- Clean out your pets’ water bowl at least once a week
- Do not overwater your plants and landscaping to prevent moist spots from forming
- Re-pot your plants into pots that do not have drip trays or places for water to sit
- Consider adding in minimally effective items such as DynaTrap, which you can purchase online
- Keep mosquito repellant available for family, friends, and other guests while hanging around your outdoor spaces
By combining your efforts with our chemical treatments, you will be able to enjoy a greatly reduced mosquito population in your yard.
